Session 1:
Novice Reduction: Metacognition/Questioning Strategies--Build on our Novice Reduction training with metacognition strategies for questioning. Learn hands-on strategies for questioning that you can use in your classroom tomorrow!
Tuesday, April 10, BCHS Library, 3:45-4:45 (1 hour session)
Session 2:
Tier 3 Vocabulary Strategies: Content vocabulary is complex, and often difficult to teach. Come and learn the difference between the three tiers of vocabulary and what strategies you can use to help teach students the content-specific vocabulary they need to use in your classroom. Bring a vocabulary list from one of your upcoming units, so you can personalize this session to fit your needs.
Tuesday, April 17, BCHS Library, 3:45-4:45, 4:45-5:45 (1 or 2 hour session--we will break after 1 hour, but you can stay for another)
Session 3:
Creating a Standards-Based Reading/Writing Module for Your Content: Bring your standards and a Chromebook/laptop and practice writing standards-based tasks for your classroom. A strong writing task is a standards-based blend of content, reading, and writing standards. In this session you will write a task for your students and design an instructional ladder to help coach your students to success.

Novice Reduction: Collaborative Structures This session will focus on collaborative group structures you can use in your classroom to help motivate and engage students in learning your course's content.
